A Couple of Firsts

Sidney is now 18 months old and she headed off to nursery today. I walked in, put her down and she was off. The nursery leader told me she did wonderful and had a good time. Sidney has not had as long as Gavin did to be the baby, but I don't think she was meant to be a baby for long. She is very independent when it comes down to it. She still needs me, thank goodness, but in many cases like this she acts like she is old enough to get a job and move out. This kills me, just as it kills me when I watch videos of Gavin from when he was an 18 month old.

Now look at him. HE IS IN KINDERGARTEN! There is no baby left in him. He is a big boy and can handle just about anything that comes his way. He picked his clothes out and his backpack. I think the only thing I got to do was comb his hair.

These last few weeks of school have showed me that he still wants me to walk him to class and he still wants a kiss goodbye, but not in front of his friends. I can deal with that. I just hope he never gets to big or embarrassed to kiss me goodbye, even if we have to hide it.
