A really good weekend

Posted by Paul and Jenny Stoker

So this was a really long and good weekend. Starting off we decided to go out to eat for Thanksgiving. I know it sounds pathetic, but it was really nice and we were not the only ones, believe me.

Then we put up all our Christmas decorations. This was what we did on Thursday.

Then first thing Friday morning we packed everything up and headed out of town, to Savannah. Here is Sidney for part of the journey.

And Gavin watched movies during the car ride. As for Paul and I, we counted all the road kill we saw, which was a lot. We also spent some of the ride wondering if it would rain the whole weekend.

But the weather must have known we were coming, because even though it was still overcast there was no rain once we got to Savannah. We checked into the hotel and then headed out to Tybee Island. Here is Paul, Sindey and Gavin standing on a pier over the Atlantic ocean.

Sidney really liked to watch the waves.

We were completely unprepared for the fact that Gavin was undeterred by the cold and got in the water anyway.

Sidney enjoyed a nice snack if sand right after I got this awesome picture of her.

Then we ate at a little restaurant on the beach.

Gavin ate a big bowl of cheese for dinner. I kept trying to get a nice picture of Gavin, but every time he saw the red light of the camera, he would make a funny face.

We went back to the beach the next day when it was sunny and enjoyed the beach.

Sidney looks worried, but she really did enjoy the water.

We also went to the river front part of Savannah and it was amazing. We had told Gavin we would go on a river boat ride, but when we got there it was really busy and there was no where to park. We were very close to missing the boat ride, so when we found a parking spot, we jumped out of the car, grabbed the kids and ran for it. In the rush we left the camera in the car, so there are no pictures of this part of our trip. But we will go back because there was so much on the river front to look at. We saw a building that was built in 1790 and walked on a stone road that had been there during the civil war. It was so rich with history, I am really sorry that we did not get pictures of it. But like I said, we are definitely going back.
