Ok, so we were outside the other day while Gavin was picking these huge mushrooms that have started springing up everywhere. I don't know why, fungus just grows here. Anyway, I realized that it was one year ago this week that we moved into our home.
I love our home. I love our space. I love our yard and I love my family. If the Lord does not bless us with anymore children, I will be sad, but at the same time I feel very complete. I am so grateful for the countless blessings I have received in this last year. I don't think I could have planned our move across the country any better. We have made such good friends here that I get sad when I think about leaving them, even though that is not for many more years.
This last year has gone by in the blink of an eye. I was very nervous about the unknown when we started off last year, but I am calm and at peace now. There are times when I really miss my family, but as I fill my days with productive activities and in caring for my family and home, I do not have many moments of longing.
I am so grateful for the gospel and how it can make us feel at home and close to family, anywhere we go.
