Gavin had his first soccer game on Saturday. It was great. He had a lot of fun, which I was worried that if he did not get to kick the ball all the time then he would be upset. He was not even a little upset that he was not the fastest or best kicker on the field. He was just so happy to get to kick the ball once in awhile.
He did get three goals during the game. One was in the other teams goal and he had picked up the ball and threw it in. The next one was in his teams goal, but also was picked up and thrown in. The third one was kicked in very slowly, but it was in the right goal.
I have to say I love this kid. He has come a long way from where he was 2 years ago. He goes with the flow pretty well. He still likes to get his way, but he also likes to please those around him. He wants to play all day long, and turns almost everything into a game.
The uniform was of course huge on him. I was even able to find someone to hem everything up, but he still swam in it.
