Something strange happened today. Gavin took a big step toward growing up today. He left for his first day of school today. This is not just preschool were he goes half day or a couple of days a week. This all day everyday. It is not easy giving up your baby to the care of others. This is not something I would have done if I did not truly believe it was the best thing for Gavin.
For along time it was just Gavin and me all day everyday. I am going to have to adjust to this new routine as much as he is. No more putting of house work or organization to play with Gavin. No more cuddling on the couch for morning cartoons. I have moved on to a time in my life that I am just waiting for the next break and next summer, when I can have him to myself again.
He will always be my baby.
No matter how big he gets.
