Having seven brothers made things interesting when I was younger and it still does well into my adult years.
Now to my point. Yesterday was Sunday and I had a quick trip down memory lane when I stop and noticed how similar the pile of shoes and pieces of church clothing looked to me.
Taking you back to about 10 years ago, when my six younger brothers ranged in in age from 17 down to 6. My parents weekly battle to get all of them ready and presentable each Sunday to enter the house of the Lord was a sight to be seen. But my parents where pros by then and could handle it. My brothers always looked very clean and handsome with hair combed and ready to go well in advance to the time of departure. This was Sunday before church.
Sunday after church went like this. My mom combing the church building to make sure everyone got in the suburban to go home, to avoid any return trips. The car pulls into the driveway, is put in park and all doors fly open. All the boys are through the back door before my mom has a chance to breath and leaving her to close any car doors left open. From there my mom would go into the house and see a trail of shoes, shirts, ties and even pants, strung through the kitchen and family room. Leading to the couch where the boys would be sitting in their underwear watching tv.
This memory came back to me as I saw our little pile of church clothing yesterday. It is not has big as my parents was, but I am glad to carry on the tradition.
