TEN Years.

Posted by Paul and Jenny Stoker

My last post was for my parents 37th wedding anniversary and this one is for my 10th.

Paul and I have never been very good at remembering our anniversary. We know it is coming, but then the day of we seem to forget every year. I do remember that I did not forget our first anniversary, but we forgot to eat the top of our cake that we had saved for a year.

Well true to form, we remembered last night that it was our anniversary today, but in the morning rush we forgot again, so we said happy anniversary to each other in a text later this morning.

When our first anniversary was approaching, I was asked by a friend if we were going to do anything special. At that time in our lives, we were both in school and working full time to pay for school, so I said no nothing special. In the same conversation though I remember saying that we would probably do something really special for our 10th anniversary. It was such a long way off, that in my head I thought we would be done with school and have more time and money to do something big. If I could go back in time I would have laughed in my own face.

Time NO, money NO. But I can say that we have 3 beautiful children and that we love each other more now than we did then, because of all the good and bad times we have shared together. The times we have held each other, comforted each other, laughed, cried and even fought together. All of it has brought us to now.

I love Paul, he is my best friend and eternal companion.

I would have laughed in your own face too casue were approaching #14 and I finally know better than to think that "we'll do such and such when..." And besides, texting "happy anniversary" is totally special enough when you already know where you stand. Know what I mean? And OH my, my, my, my Paul looks like he is a really tall 12 year old in that pic.
