Let it Rain

Posted by Paul and Jenny Stoker

This last week here in Georgia has been interesting with regard to the weather. We have been experiencing the lovely southern humidity. But along with it being humid everyday, it also has rained almost everyday. Not just rained, but poured buckets of water. I have never seen so much rain in my life.

Today we were at Walmart (the great American past time) and it began to thunder so loudly that we could hear it very well inside the store. Also at one point the lights in Walmart flickered out. We were hoping that it would be a short rain, which it was, but not short enough. We were done shopping, had checked out and were standing outside, undercover along with about a dozen other shoppers, trying to decide which course of action would be best.

At first we thought it would be better if Paul took the groceries, ran to the car, and then come and get me and the kids from in front of the store. But this was put aside and we decided to cover Sidney as best we could, we told Gavin to stand on the front of the cart, so we could go faster, and we ran for it. We got to the car wet and safe. Sidney looked surprised, Gavin was laughing and Paul and I were completely wet, but it was fun.

Because truthfully, it is only water.

Awww, I love that story. Sometimes those times make the best memories or the worst depending on how you handle it. Sounds like you handled it perfectly! Cant wait to see you and that chubby baby girl in a few weeks!

Oh how I miss the good ole rain storms of other places I have lived. I would say that is one of the downfalls of living in the valley! I am so glad you are enjoying it!

I'm jealous. Our house is just 5 minutes from yours and we only got 1 real rainstorm last week. Boo. The weather is so crazy around here.

That's a cute story. I've been in that situation a few times, always fun with kids.
