Well we were definitely surprised to welcome our little girl this Sunday. She decided that she wanted to have her birthday on Valentines Day, instead of two weeks from now. I shall now give you a play by play of this event, without to many of the nasty details.
It started off as a normal Saturday, which contained a lot of driving from store to store and walking around. We returned home at about 6pm and had been in the house for about 15 minutes when I felt the need to take a bathroom brake. Well right as I walked into the bathroom my water broke. I say thank goodness for small miracles that it did not happen in one of the stores we were in that day. I have to say I was surprised and had to call my sister Julianne to ask what it felt like to have your water brake, just in case I was mistaken. She confirmed that it actually had, so we began to put our plans into action.
I called my friend Erin to come and get Gavin for the night and Paul and I headed off for the hospital. From there everything went very nice and easy. I should mention that one of the reasons I was unsure that my water had broke was that I was not having any serious contractions. I know I will make some people mad by saying this, but through the whole pregnancy and delivery at most I was uncomfortable. The nurse and doctor were wonderful. Before the doctor ever come to the hospital he told the nurse to go ahead and put me on patoson ( I dont know how to spell that) and give me my epidural so that I could progress as fast as possible. I have to say I like their way of thinking. So from start to finish the most I felt was some pressure and I only had to push through 5 or 6 contraction and I was done. It was the best way to have a baby I can think of.
Sidney is beutiful and very well behaved little girl. We of course feel all the blessings of having this little spirit in our home at last. We love you all and we will post more pictures soon.
